About

Hi, I'm Alla

Hi, I'm Alla. I'm a mom of two incredible and vivacious girls. I've done the Orlando trip countless times at this point, and I want to give my honest advice to any parent looking to make the trip.

The first trip was a mess, even though I thought I had planned it well. I had booked the restaurants, the activities, even planned out each ride with a timestamp. And then it hit me: the bandaids I forgot, the walking shoes that weren't really ever meant for that much walking, the overtired meltdown from my 4 year old, and the moment I sat on a curb and questioned all of my choices.

By the next trip, I'd figured some things out. Friends started texting me before their own trips, and I realized I was sending the same three paragraphs to everyone: what to pack, when the rain comes, and how to keep a tired kid from falling apart at 4pm. Project Sunshine is that text message, grown up a little.

A few things you should know about how this works

I only recommend things I've actually packed. Some links on this site earn me a small commission if you use them. It costs you nothing beyond the price of the actual item, I promise, and it's how I keep this site running without ads. But you have my word: if I wouldn't put it in my own park bag, it's not on this site.

I'm not affiliated with Disney, Universal, or anyone else. Nobody pays me to say nice things, which means I can also tell you when something isn't worth your money.

And I answer emails. If you're staring at a suitcase at 11pm with a question, write me. I've been the 11pm suitcase person. I get it.

Go make the core memories. I'll do my best to help you not stress out.
